Festive meals in the air

AirAsia takes the festive mood to a higher level. Throughout the months of Ramadan and Syawal, the airline is offering a Raya Meal combo on board.

This consists of nasi hujan panas with beef rendang, pickled vegetables and wajik (glutinous rice with coconut milk and palm sugar) for dessert.

Chief executive officer Aireen Omar said the hot meals are ideal for breaking fast during Ramadan and when travelling home for Aidilfitri.

"Our new and revamped in-flight menu is tailored for all Malaysians. Most importantly, our food and beverages are certified halal by Jakim."

Guests can pre-book their Raya Meal combo online at only RM15, inclusive of a 100ml bottle of mineral water.

Meanwhile, on-the-spot purchase on-board is available at RM19, and comes with a choice of coffee, tea or orange juice.

Other new dishes are Uncle Chin's sweet and sour chicken rice, spicy fish fried rice and vegetable Manchurian rice which are available for purchase on-board.

AirAsia is also introducing a new snack selection, Quick Bites, which include yam cake, samosa with mint chutney, spinach wrap with cream cheese and avocado, lamb kathi kebab wrap, and chicken mayo with apple sandwich.

There's a 20 per cent discount when passengers pre-book their meals online.
