NTUC Income backs Mok's Olympic dream

SINGAPORE - Local insurer NTUC Income has committed $60,000 in cash and complimentary personal accident and travel insurance plans over three years to help marathon runner Mok Ying Ren realise his dream of competing at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

"NTUC Income's sponsorship reflects its belief in me. It will spur me on to work even harder," said Mok. The 26-year-old will leave on Monday for Glasgow, where he will be the first Singaporean to run in the Commonwealth Games' marathon event.

"Mok became an elite athlete through a combination of talent, discipline and hard work," said Marcus Chew, vice-president of strategic marketing at NTUC Income.

"His youth, dynamism and drive are attributes that resonate well with NTUC Income. He is also a role model and an inspiration to many."
