NUS, NTU, SMU fresh grads get higher starting pay in 2015

SINGAPORE - Fresh graduates employed in full-time positions last year were paid higher than the class of 2014, the latest Joint Graduate Employment Survey revealed on Wednesday (March 2).

Students who graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore Management University (SMU) last year reported a gross monthly pay of $3,468, compared to $3,333 in 2014.

The survey which interviewed over 10,028 full-time students, also found that the median gross monthly salary was $3,300 in 2015, an increase from $3,200 two years ago.

Meanwhile, hiring prospects look positive, with nine out of ten finding employment within six months after their final examinations. This marks a 0.4 per cent increase from 2014.

The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) will conduct their surveys in February and March, respectively.
