Start the new year on a healthy note with trendy superfood acai, a species of palm tree grown for its berries.
Head to Absolute Acai in the Central Business District for bowls that feature its signature acai base blend with caffeine-rich guarana, coconut water, bananas and apples.
The blend is also used in the Brazilian Bowl ($5.90 to $11.90) with granola and honey, and the Absolute Acai Signature Bowl ($7.50 to $15.50), with ingredients such as blueberries, strawberries, chia seeds, coconut flakes, bee pollen and cacao nibs.
Customise your own bowl ($4.50 to $10.50, minimum of two toppings) with dry topping (50 cents each) such as sunflower seeds and dried cranberries; fruit topping (70 cents) such as kiwi and raspberries; or superfood topping ($1 each) such as goji berries and bee pollen.
The menu also includes a breakfast smoothie ($6.90 or $10.50) with raw organic acai, low-fat natural yogurt, bananas, apples, coconut water and guarana.
