Open for business: Atrium Restaurant, Hotpot Kingdom, The Prawn Star

ATRIUM RESTAURANT

The all-day dining restaurant at Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium in Outram Road has officially re-opened last week after a revamp. Now headed by new executive chef Chua Yew Hock, the Atrium Restaurant, formerly known as The Melting Pot, features signature dishes including mussel otah otah (right), curry laksa, assam fish and chilli crab in its international buffet spread.

Buffets are available for breakfast ($32++ on weekdays, $35++ on weekends), lunch ($42++ on weekdays, $50++ on Saturday, $55++ on Sunday) and dinner ($50++ a person, Monday to Thursday, $55++a person, Friday to Sunday).

A la carte items range from $10 to $30 each.

Open: 6am to 11pm, daily (last order 10.30pm). Buffets are available from 6am to 10.30am (breakfast), noon to 2.30pm (lunch), 6.30 to 10.30pm (dinner). The restaurant also has an all-day a la carte menu.

HOTPOT KINGDOM

The 110-seat steamboat restaurant at Marina Bay Sands offers a variety of dim sum, housemade fish-paste noodles, traditional herbal drinks and desserts. Soup bases range from Macanese Pork Bone and beef consomme to Spicy Szechuan and Korean Kimchi; while hotpot ingredients include watercress, lotus root, Japanese wagyu tenderloin and seafood balls.

Dimsum, available for lunch and at tea time, includes dishes such as steamed glutinous rice in lotus leaf and siew mai with black truffle. Hotpot set menus start at $15.90++ a person.

THE PRAWN STAR

The edgy, new-age seafood zichar restaurant opened about 11/2 weeks ago. Located in a pre-war shophouse along the cobble-stoned Duxton Hill, it specialises in crustaceans and molluscs, from crabs to clams. The 36-seat restaurant also has an alfresco area that can seat an additional 12 people.

Its signature items include TPS Grilled King Prawns ($26) served in kimchi-miso butter; King Prawns In Vermicelli Claypot ($32); as well as dishes such as Sriracha Caramel Popcorn ($8); and Lobster Poutine ($12).

Open: Noon to 2.30pm (weekday), 6 to 10.30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 6pm till late (Friday and Saturday), closed on Sunday
