BOTTURA

Bottura is a 144-seat Italian restaurant, gelato bar and food store rolled into one.

Have the Tagliatelle Ragu ($15), four-cheese gnocchi (Italian dumplings) with rocket pesto ($14) or Arrabbiata pizza ($18) with toppings such as mozzarella, tomatoes and capers.

Then get some gelato ($5 a scoop) in flavours such as pistachio and stracciatella, which is vanilla ice cream with fine streams of chocolate. There are gelato popsicles ($7 a stick) with a crunchy chocolate coating too. Italian wine and food products are also available.

WHOLLY CRAB

Actress Felicia Chin has opened seafood stall Wholly Crab at Satay By The Bay.

This is her second foray into the food and beverage industry after opening retro-themed cafe The Mama Shop with fellow actress Sora Ma last year.

Customise your own set bucket by choosing from seafood such as crabs ($28) and mussels ($18), sauces such as kung pow and laksa, and sides such as Thai mango salad and sweet potato fries.

You can also have a la carte dishes such as the Nori tempura soft shell crab ($12). Look out for The Wholly Grill, which will be rolled out next month and features seafood such as Alaskan crab legs and lobsters.

SNOWY VILLAGE

Next time you pass by Lasalle College of the Arts or Sim Lim Square, look out for a cargo container nearby.

In it is Snowy Village, a newly opened Korean dessert cafe which seats 13 indoors and 12 outdoors. The owners rented the container from Deck, the art space next door, which is also housed in cargo containers.

Pineapple and sweet potato bingsoo ($15.50 each) are the newest items on the menu and there is a 20 per cent discount on them till June 10.

Drinks such as matcha and taro latte ($5.50 each) and items such as injeolmi (Korean rice cake) toast ($5.40) and salmon, ham and tuna sandwiches ($6.50 to $7.50) are available.

CASSE-CROUTE

Food and beverage veteran Patrick Heuberger has opened 16-seat snack bar Casse-Croute, French for "having a small meal on the go". It offers ready-to-eat meals, which one can have there or take away, and has a charcuterie production kitchen.

Signature offerings include the country-style pork pate (left, $20 for 280g) and duck sausage with foie gras and pistachios ($16.80 for 150g).

Other items on the menu include main courses such as stuffed deboned quail with chicken, mushrooms and rosemary jus ($24) and caramelised beef tenderloin with white peppercorns and brandy sauce ($32).

Appetisers, desserts and drinks such as wines and beers are also available. Its online store will be ready by the end of next month.
