Chef Immanuel Tee, who owns Immanuel French Kitchen, a French food stall in a Bukit Merah coffee shop, has opened another stall, serving charcoal grilled food this time. It is headed by chef Alexander Chong, who worked previously in restaurant-bar The Study and French restaurant Au Petit Salut.

The signature dishes include pork cheek dry-rubbed with herbs ($15.40) and the confit pork ribs, which are glazed with a secret barbecue sauce and served with macaroni and cheese ($14.90).

HVALA WAFFLE BAR

Have your waffle cravings ever gone unsatisfied because you can't find people to share a huge waffle with? Fret not, for this waffle stand sells waffle sticks for one.

Prices begin at $3 for the Original Hvala Waffle with maple syrup, icing sugar and cocoa powder, and top out at $3.80 for the Berries Delight, which is topped with mixed berries and Greek yoghurt sauce.

Or you can get a base waffle ($2.50) and customise it with toppings, such as tiramisu frosting, cookie crumble and salted caramel, for $0.50 or $1.

There is a teatime special, where you get a free vanilla soft-serve with any purchase of waffles from 3 to 6pm on weekdays. Savoury waffle flavours are in the works.

FIX GRILL

Begin your meal at this 110-seat casual grill with starters such as Watermelon With Prawn Salad ($7) and Hokkaido Scallops On Quinoa ($11).

The signature dishes include the Bone-in-Beef Shortribs ($32), which is slow-cooked for 24 hours, and the Fix Lobster Roll ($25, above), featuring deep-fried chunks of lobster meat in mayonnaise, served on a brioche bun. There is also the Fix Grill Assorted Platter ($25) with skewers of beef, chicken and lamb.

Wash it down with handcrafted sodas ($5.50 each) such as Strawberry & Sweet Basil or Kiwi & Mint.

THE ROYALS STEAKHOUSE

This 30-seat steakhouse serves food with halal ingredients and will receive its halal certification by July. It serves beef and lamb which are imported chilled from Australia and New Zealand. Steaks include a 180g Australian Striploin ($22) and 180g Australian Ribeye ($26) and 700g Cote De Boeuf ($42) for two.

The restaurant also serves burgers such as The Lamburghini ($20), which comes with a lamb patty, caramelised onions and melted cheese.

CAVEAU BAR

Caveau Wines & Bar at Shaw Centre has closed and reopened as 58-seat Caveau Bar - with the Caveau Wines retail store moved to the second level of the building.

Caveau Bar offers an expanded food and wine menu with offerings such as a white wine, the 2013 Pierre Gaillard Cotes du Rhone (half glass for $9, a glass for $18, a bottle for $88). There are also dishes such as pan-seared prawns with white wine and herbs ($14) and chorizo with squid and a sunny side-up ($10).
