Open For Business: Gao Peng Cuisine

Gao Ji Food, which started out with popular yong tau foo brand Koo Kee Yong Tow Foo Mee, has opened a restaurant.

The 70-seat Chinese restaurant is helmed by executive chef Paul Peh, formerly of Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel and restaurant chain Peach Garden.

Dim sum selections include South Pacific steamed dim sum platter ($4.80), with a pumpkin and dried scallop dumpling, lychee chicken dumpling with dried bonito flakes and crispy duck roll with cucumber and hoi sin sauce ($4.80).

For dinner, items include steamed Dover sole fillet with green ginger sauce ($20), crispy scallops and enoki mushroom with mango salsa sauce ($24.80), Kurobuta pork with lotus root in black peppr sauce ($26.80) and mushroom tofu with vegetables ($13.80).

Complete the meal with desserts such as an East-West fusion of crispy Maltesers with custard ($4.50) and chilled cantaloupe with lychee and lime sorbet ($4.50).
