Steamboat goes mod at Asian hotpot and noodle bar Miss Lok.
The name refers to lok lok - a popular version of hotpot where skewered meats, seafood or vegetables are boiled in soups and eaten with satay sauce. Prices range from $1 to $4 for lok lok items.
As for the hotpot soups ($6 to $8), options include laksa, bak kut teh, Sichuan mala and sake-infused asari clams.
Ingredients include the beef platter ($12 or $18) and seafood platter ($28 or $42), as well as side dishes such as sweet potato fries with salted egg yolk dip ($10), squid karaage with cincalok dip ($10) and fried gyoza ($8).
Mix your own dips or order special ones ($2 each) such as salted egg yolk, sambal belacan and cincalok. Complete the meal with a range of sake, wine or beer.
