Playboy son of S'pore pianist was sugar daddy to 15 women

He claims he was once London's highest paid male escort.

He also claims to play sugar daddy to young women, including students, plying them with lavish gifts and money in exchange for sex.

Dexter Koh, the son of veteran Singaporean pianist Danny Koh, even claims to be the real-life Christian Grey from the hugely popular erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

The Briton, who claims to have a net worth of up to US$5 million (S$6.3 million), is now hogging headlines in the UK as one of the most disliked contestants on the latest edition of the hit TV reality show Big Brother.

Last week, he received 10 nominations from his housemates and was joined by Gina Rio and Jemima Slade, with eight and five votes respectively, to face the public vote to be the second contestant to be kicked out, reported Britain's Daily Mail.

Breaking from character, Koh broke down in tears and claimed he has never had any friends.

And he went on to verbally abuse his housemates.

Housemate Daniel Neal, a former policeman, who had picked Koh to face the public vote, said: "I don't find him very sincere. He's trying to start relationships under false pretences. I haven't connected with him. I don't trust him."

But Koh survived the public vote last Friday when Slade was voted out instead.

He gained online notoriety and became tabloid fodder last December after posting a bar bill on Twitter showing that he had spent £121,000 (S$233,000) on champagne, together with party photos, at London's Aura Mayfair club. The party was to celebrate his winning a six-figure sum at a casino on the date 12.12.12.

In a subsequent interview with The Evening Standard, Koh was somewhat contrite.

"To be honest with you, I was a little bit ashamed of what I did," he said.

 

So why did he do it?

"It was kind of a bottle race. There were a lot of arrogant people in the club... It is competitive," he said. "Flaunting your wealth just to show you're a bigger man is very shallow, of course. I do it more for giggles."

Koh, who describes himself as the head of a public relations company and talent agent, has also spoken extensively about his sex life, claiming to have played sugar daddy to as many as 15 women, mainly through an online dating website, SeekingArrangement.com

The dating website was set up in 2006 by Singaporean Brandon Wey and matches wealthy men with young women.

When news broke about Koh's lavish lifestyle, local news website InSing interviewed his father, who said he was surprised by the reports because his son had never said anything to him.

Mr Koh, 60, said: "We speak over the phone every two months or so, just friendly conversation about how each of us is doing. He never told me that all these things were happening."

Previous marriage

The Singaporean pianist, who has performed at the Istana and countries like Australia, now runs his own entertainment company.

Koh is his son from a previous marriage to a British ballroom dance teacher in the "early 80s". They were separated when Koh was eight.

Mr Koh, who has a 24-year-old daughter from his second marriage, told InSing that over the many years that he has known his son through telephone chats and occasional meet-ups in Singapore, he would say his son's personality is "street smart, quite flamboyant, adventurous and he knows what he wants in life".

As for his son's controversial lifestyle, he said there are two sides to every story. "For instance, there is the other side of him where he is very close to his mother and his grandfather. Do not believe everything you read as the gospel truth," he said.

When contacted by The New Paper yesterday, Mr Koh declined to comment.

Koh's SeekingArrangement.com profile lists his age as 30 and his annual income as "more than US$1 million" and his net worth at "US$2 million to US$5 million".

Describing his experience on SeekingArrangement.com, he said one of his first dates was a 21-year-old Oxford University student, reported the Daily Mail.

"We entered into a mutually beneficial arrangement. I was paying her around £1,000 a month - sometimes more depending on how often we'd see each other

"We'd go away for weekends -- Paris, Berlin, Milan. We'd stay somewhere nice, have great sex and just enjoy each other's company..."

But a former girlfriend, lingerie model Danielle McMahon casts doubts on his claims as a millionaire sugar daddy.

"He claimed to own a strip club, but he was actually just a waiter," she said.

As for his Aura Mayfair bar tab, Ms McMahon claimed to the Daily Star: "No champagne bottles were opened at all. They brought out about 20 and made a big fuss, with confetti and everything. The bottles sat on the table for an hour, then the staff took them away.

"It was really embarrassing, but I was just in awe that so many people bought into it. I wanted to scream that it was fake."

She said: "He told the manager:, 'I've got a fan base of 20,000 people on Twitter. I will go to town and say I've had an awful experience.'

"Everyone was looking. I was so embarrassed."
