KUALA LUMPUR - A 12-year-old girl is missing after leaving her house to go to a grocery shop in Kota Kinabalu five days ago.

Durina Behi, a Year Six student of SK Luyang, left her house in Kepayan Ridge Flat, Jalan Hospital Queen Elizabeth, on Saturday at 2pm to go to a grocery shop.

A police spokesman said Durina's mother looked for her after she failed to return home.

She lodged a police report the next day.

Several neighbours and the shop owner, when asked by Durina's mother, said they did not see her on the day she went missing.

She said Durina, who is the first of three siblings, was wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of white knee-length pants.

The girl has scar marks on her left hand and thigh as a result of a spilled hot water incident several years ago.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commissions sent out a Nur Alert message through SMS.
