SINGAPORE - Workers' Party chairman Sylvia Lim has accused the People's Action Party of turning HDB residents into "pawns in a political game or simply collateral damage" through its management of town councils.
She made the charge during the WP's second rally on Tuesday night when she raised the controversial issue over the sale of computer software by PAP town councils to the Action Information Management, a company fully owned by the PAP.
Ms Lim recounted how the WP, after winning the Aljunied GRC at the 2011 General Election, was able to dig into documents showing how the PAP town councils have been managing HDB towns.
She said: "While many of the systems and processes were sensible, many showed how political town council management has become.
