Printer makes life easier for Apple fans

SINGAPORE - Sometime last year, Canon launched a compact photo printer that supports wireless printing.

The CP900, a dye-sublimation printer, works with the Canon EasyPhoto Print app - available on iOS and Android - to wirelessly print pictures from mobile phones and tablets.

It also supports USB, memory card and direct PC printing. In order to print, mobile devices have to be connected to the wireless network that the CP900 is on.

The new version of the Selphy printer, the CP910, takes things further by including Apple AirPrint support, enabling iPhone and iPad users to print wirelessly from their devices without being on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.

There is a new Print Finish function where users can choose between two patterned textures, and glossy or matt finish.

The CP910 is compatible with a wide selection of paper types, and is not limited to Canon paper. It can print 43 sizes of ID photos, more than the usual 28.

The CP910 uses Canon's new series of ink cartridges, which are more economical.

The old cartridges are limited to 36 prints, while the new cartridges can print 54 sheets before a change is required.

As before, cartridge and paper come in one pack, which is convenient.

How much: $179, available in black and white
