PUMA sponsors first local football club Home United

SINGAPORE - PUMA Singapore has officially signed a two-year sponsorship deal with reigning RHB Singapore Cup champions, Home United Football Club (HUFC) on Wednesday. This partnership marks PUMA's first-ever sponsorship of a football club in Singapore.

As the Official Kit Sponsor, PUMA Singapore will produce both playing and training kits as well as apparels for HUFC's S League, Prime League and Centre of Excellence (COE) teams for two seasons.

HUFC will kick off their 2014 season donning the new PUMA team kit in the Charity Shield match against  S League defending champions, Tampines Rovers, on February 21 at the Jalan Besar Stadium. Beyond domestic competitions, the club will also participate in the continental AFC Cup competition this year.

Mr. Anselm Lopez, HUFC Chairman, said, "Both Puma and HUFC are aligned in bringing up youth football development and there will be collaborative events for the sports loving community, particularly for our youth in Singapore. I believe that Puma and HUFC can go a long way in aiding the Singapore Football cause and together, we aspire to be biggest club brand in Singapore and one of the biggest in the region as well."

With new additions to the team - goalkeeper Daniel Ong and forward Qiu Li from Balestier Khalsa, midfielder Yasir Hanapi from Geylang International, forward Brunojunichi Suzukicastanheira from Albirex Niigata (S) and former LIONSXII players Fazli Ayob, Izzdin Shafiq and Fazrul Nawaz - HUFC aims to take home the 2014  S League title.
