Is rainbow food the new Singapore food craze?

We love our colours, and it seems that gourmet chefs around the world do too!

Take a look at these technicoloured treats and let us know - would you eat it?

Rainbow hair came and took our breath away, but the rainbow trend isn't stopping there. In fact, it's transcended beauty to encompass another of our favourite things: Food.

Yeah, we're not kidding! Rainbow food is conquering our taste palates all over the world too.

Forget the rainbow layered cake, or everyone's favourite Rainbow Paddle Pop ice cream, these new concoctions are taking it one step further. Check 'em out:

1. Rainbow grilled cheese sandwiches

As it turns out, there is no limit to how far good ol' grilled cheese sandwiches can be reimagined. Who would ever have thought to make rainbow-coloured cheese, you ask? The Hong Kongers, of course.

And don't think that the colours are just for show. According to foodie @hkfoodiexblogger, each colour represents a different flavour: "Lavender (blue), basil (green), tomato (red) and the yellow one is actually a combination of 4 kinds of cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, Emmental and gruyere)."

If you're going to Hong Kong soon, make sure to drop by Kala Toast to try this all-new, colourful snack!

2. Rainbow bagel

Granted, these goodies may not be as new as the others, but are no less peculiar (or tempting, depending on how you look at it). Freshly made in Brooklyn by The Bagel Store, these bagels have baked up a storm on Instagram and Facebook, with just about everyone wanting to try it.

The store has got various colours and combinations of bagels available, so you know you won't get bored - and if we're being honest, neither will your Instagram followers.

3. Rainbow coffee

If you've been trying to wean yourself off your social media addiction and have yet to see this pop up on your Facebook feed, then we're here to inform you about one of the newest Insta-fads that just about everyone is sharing: Rainbow coffee.

Alright, so this isn't actually an edible food item per se, but it's still incredibly pretty and somewhat relaxing to watch!

And while these new foods might not have landed on our shores just yet, but we know it's just a matter of time, seeing how Bake Cheese Tarts and the Hello Kitty Cafe have made their way over!
