Ramsay fans, look out for his eatery at MBS next year

SINGAPORE - British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will open a restaurant at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) next year.

The chef runs some 25 restaurants around the world - from New York to Doha - including his eponymous three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Royal Hospital Road, London.

He will be opening the casual Bread Street Kitchen here, after opening a similar restaurant in Hong Kong recently.

The new restaurant will feature a British-European menu.

If the London restaurant's menu is anything to go by, dishes will range from classic English ones to ricotta hotcakes, ceviches and beef short-rib burgers.

The chef will join the likes of other celebrity peers who have set up shop at the integrated resort, including United States-based chefs Daniel Boulud of db Bistro Moderne and Wolfgang Puck of the steakhouse Cut.

Ramsay, who was in town in July last year for the SingTel Hawker Heroes challenge, has a huge fan base in Singapore. He was mobbed at Maxwell and Newton food centres, with many showing up just to catch a glimpse of the famously foul-mouthed chef.

His television shows, including Hell's Kitchen, are also popular here.
