Reserve through SoShiok to win dining vouchers

Make a restaurant reservation via The Straits Times SoShiok food app or SoShiok.com between now and June 30, and you could be one of five lucky diners to each win dining vouchers worth $1,000.

A valid e-mail address is all that is needed to take part.

Reservations can be made at any restaurant listed on SoShiok that is linked to restaurant reservations system Chope.

The contest is jointly organised by SoShiok and Chope, a three-year-old company in which Singapore Press Holdings is a significant minority shareholder.

Each winner will be notified by the e-mail address used to make the reservations. The more reservations you make, the higher the chances of winning. The winners will be picked in a lucky draw.

Five winners will each get $1,000 worth of vouchers to dine at one of these five restaurants: European restaurant Shelter In The Woods in Greenwood Avenue, French restaurant Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt at The Arts House in Parliament Lane, modern European restaurant Bacchanalia in Coleman Street, French restaurant Brasserie Gavroche in Tras Street and 63Celsius, a modern European and Spanish-inspired tapas and cocktail bar-restaurant at Asia Square in the Central Business District.

The vouchers are valid till Dec 31, with the exception of Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt, whose voucher expires on Sept 30. Winners can spend the $1,000 at one go or dine at the restaurant more than once.

Mr Steven Wong, 42, SPH Digital's head of marketing and communications, says: "We like to think of SoShiok as a one-stop service where, for instance, you can read reviews by SPH's food critics, make reservations at the restaurants and have them instantly confirmed by Chope.

"Our objective is to reinforce SoShiok as the best source for all things that are food- related in Singapore."

Chope's chief executive Arrif Ziaudeen, 33, says: "We've had the privilege of working closely with SoShiok and it is clear that its priority is truthful reviews from experienced restaurant critics that readers already trust."

He adds that the integration of SoShiok with Chope's reservations system is timely, given the shift towards digital platforms.

"It's a natural match for Internet- savvy diners in Singapore, find where to eat on SoShiok, book via Chope, win prizes and get promotions from restaurants."

The SoShiok app is developed by SPH's news portal AsiaOne and named after food website, The Straits Times SoShiok.

The free app has had more than 158,000 downloads since its launch in January, and can be found at the Apple App Store for iPhone users, as well as the Google Play Store for Android phone users
