Saw finishes 7th in qualifiers

Keith Saw ended his qualifying round at the Kingdom of Bahrain International Bowling Championships in seventh place on Monday.

The 19-year-old Singaporean had an average of 214.17 pinfalls over 24 games, missing out on the top bracket of six bowlers by 0.16 pins.

Thailand's Yannaphon Larpapharat claimed the final spot with a 214.33 average, while UAE's Shaker Al Hassan topped the 102-strong field with an average of 237.83.

The top five international bowlers qualify directly for the fifth round - along with the top Bahraini kegler - on Friday and will compete with the top six from the fourth round for a place in the three-man stepladder final.

Saw is in the second bracket and currently qualifies for a bye to the fourth round.
