1,800 comic books to be given away at Lido Cineplex on May 3

SINGAPORE - To celebrate the International Free Comic Book Day, which falls on May 3 this year, Shaw Theatres is giving 900 of its patrons a total of 1,800 comic books for free.

Two comic books will be given to each person with a valid Shaw Theatres ticket stub purchased from April 1 to May 3, and who checks in to Lido Cineplex on Facebook on May 3. A screenshot of the Facebook check-in must be presented.

Redemption is on a first-come-first-served basis and starts from 5pm at Shaw House Urban Plaza on May 3. Queueing will only be allowed from 3pm onwards on that day.

The comic books to be given away are "Guardians of the Galaxy", "The New 52: Futures End", "Transformers vs GI Joe" and "The Smurfs".

Three renowned comic artists will also be present at the event: Ivan Reis (Justice League), Alan Quah (The Vampire Diaries) and Sheldon Goh (Grimm Fairy Tales).

There will also be other comic book artists providing free caricatures and sketchings for those who turn up for the event, which is expected to last until 7pm.
