SINGAPORE - TV actress Jeanette Aw snagged four awards to become the biggest winner of Star Awards 20 Show 1.

Aw won awards for being the Regional Most Popular Artiste (Cambodia), the Favourite Female Character, Social Media and Favourite Onscreen Couple.

In her acceptance speech at the live-telecast of the awards show, she thanked her Cambodian fans for voting for her and recalled how she was warmly welcomed by them while promoting her TV shows in their country.

Aw's most coveted victory was the Favourite Female Character award, which ended the winning streak of another forerunner, Rui En,  who had won the award three times in a row.

The award was for her role as Zhao Fei Er in the hit series The Dream Makers. Together with Qi Yuwu, they jointly won the Favourite Onscreen Couple award in this drama.

Aw collected the award with actress Joanne Peh, who accepted it on behalf of boyfriend Qi, who was filming in China.

Rui En said she was not disappointed for losing to Aw in two categories of the awards as she felt the latter truly deserved to win. But Rui En managed to bag the Regional Most Popular MediaCorp Artiste awards for Indonesia and Malaysia.

Other major winners of the night included popular actor Elvin Ng, who garnered the Favourite Male Character award, and veteran actress Priscilla Chan who won the Rocket Award, given to an artiste who has shown notable improvement in performances in the past year.
