Franz Ferdinand's fourth offering is like an eager attempt to make up for the fact that their last two albums were somewhat lacklustre compared to their triumphant self-titled debut in 2004.
Their latest release is a combination of some of their most successful efforts with some lesser works, resulting in a confusing mix.
It starts off in familiar territory with Right Action and Evil Eye, but sinks to a low with the cheesy-sounding track Fresh Strawberries before rising to a high with fast dance-rock tracks like Bullet and then dipping again with Goodbye Lovers & Friends.
On the plus side, this will please all fans who might have favoured one album over another from the band's discography.
