McKellen marries Stewart and wife

NEW YORK - Ian McKellen, who in March said "I am going to marry Patrick", finally did it. The actor officiated at the wedding of his X-Men co-star Patrick Stewart and his third wife, singer-songwriter Sunny Ozell, 35.

"I did my part," the Lord Gandalf actor of Lord Of The Rings wrote on Facebook, posting a photo of himself draped with a T-shirt reading "Minister" and showing off his Doctor of Divinity certificate.

He added a link to Stewart's Twitter page, which showed a photo of the Star Trek actor and Ozell submerged in colourful balls.

"Yes, married," Stewart, 73, simply wrote on Sunday. They reportedly wed on that day.

"I'm going to marry Patrick," McKellen, 74, had announced while on the Jonathan Ross Show in March. "I am going to officiate at his wedding."

Asked if he had the qualifications for the job, he said, "In Massachusetts, we're in the middle of America somewhere, you get anybody along, a friend, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married. I declare you man and wife."
