SINGAPORE - Singapore Airlines has been named Singapore's best employer brand for the second consecutive year at the Randstad Award 2013.
The Randstad Award is based on collected opinions of Singapore's 75 largest employers provided by a total of 4,500 employees.
In the study, 70 per cent of respondents said they would like to work for Singapore Airlines. The airline's brand was also found to be the most attractive to the both males and females across all age brackets.
Randstad Country Director, Mr Michael Smith said: "An organisation's brand is one of its most valuable and reputable assets."
"Companies like SIA, ExxonMobil and Procter & Gamble recognise this and have heavily invested in their employer brand. In doing so, it gives them a natural advantage to attract top talent - a critical factor in Singapore's tight labour market," he added.
SIA ranked high across all key criteria, including interesting job content; career progression opportunities; competitive salary and employee benefits; good work- life balance; a pleasant working atmosphere; good training; strong management; financial health and concern for the environment.
SIA's senior vice president of human resources, Christopher Cheng Kian Hai, said: "We are honoured to have won the award for the second consecutive year. In today's competitive business environment, attracting the right people and talent retention are key to the success of any organisation.

In addition, CapitaLand was recognised for making a significant improvement in their employer brand ranking in the past 12 months. The company had done well in the areas of strong management, financial health, interesting job content and concern for the environment.

Randstat said in a press statement that leaders of today need to ensure that their policies can look after and invest in people. Those who fail to see this as a priority will lose key talent to organisations that do.
The list of winners was revealed at a gala dinner at the PARKROYAL Hotel on Pickering on Thursday night.
