SIISFest 2015: A starry affair

This year's Singapore International Indian Shopping Festival (SIISFest) 2015 takes place from Sept 24 to Sept 27.

Visitors to this year's festival on Sept 26 are in for a special treat. Telugu and Bollywood actor Rana Daggubati, last seen as the antagonist in S.S. Rajamouli's blockbuster Baahubali, will be making his way to Halls 403 and 404 at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre to mingle with the shoppers.

That's not all. Fans of Vasantham will be treated to performances by Vasantham actor and singer-composer Shabir. With singers like Suthasini, Elamaran and many more, they will be performing a medley of songs from some of the channel's popular dramas and Indian cinema hits. Be sure to catch these performances, hosted by Oli 96.8FM DJs Anand and Vimala, at 4pm on Sept 26.

The stars of Zee TV's Dance Singapore Dance will be there on Sept 27. Thirty lucky people will stand a chance to meet the winner of the competition and learn dance moves from their favourite contestant. All they have to do is e-mail their full name, NRIC and phone number to content_promo@starhub.com. The contest ends at noon on Sept 26.

Another highlight of the shopping festival is Cuisines of India. Decked up to look like a railway station in India, the food and beverage pavilion will showcase favourite snacks from across India, featuring specialities from cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and more.

With the popularity of the Rajasthani Village at SIISFest 2014, this year, the organisers are bringing a different kind of marketplace experience to shoppers in Singapore with the Delhi Haat.

A haat is a village market. The Delhi Haat at SIISFest will be a showpiece of traditional Indian culture, bringing together a group of exhibitors who will showcase apparel, accessories and arts and crafts special to north India.

Among the exhibitors at the Delhi Haat will be Myrah, which specialises in Indian, Western and fusion wear for women. The boutique has collaborated with 20 designers from all over the world and has also launched an organic clothing line.

For more glitz and glamour, Indian jeweller Amin Exports will be showcasing new collections of imitation jewellery.

If you need more reasons to spend at SIISFest 2015, here's one: Spend a minimum of $30 in a single receipt and stand a chance to win a Hyundai Sonata VIII.

So make a date with us from Sept 24 to 27!
