SINGAPORE - Singapore will report detailed first-quarter economic data on May 23 at 8 am local time, the government said on Thursday.

Economists polled by Reuters expect the detailed estimates will show gross domestic product (GDP) contracted by 1.3 per cent in the first three months of the year, slightly better than the advance estimate of minus 1.4 per cent reported in April.

From a year ago, Singapore's GDP probably shrank by 0.5 per cent, less than the initial estimate of 0.6 per cent, helped by a slightly better-than-expected performance in services.

The first-quarter economic survey will be released on the same day as industrial production and inflation data for the month of April.
