SINGAPORE - 14 passengers and crew were injured due to sudden severe turbulence during a Singapore Airlines flight from Osaka to Singapore that landed this morning, said The Straits Times.

Upon landing, the injured passengers and crew were brought to the transit clinic at Terminal 2 for treatment, said an SIA spokesman.

They were reported to have injuries on their head and neck, and some had cuts on their hands and legs.

One patient was referred to a hospital for further examination due to a previous neck injury, said The Straits Times. The rest were released after seeking treatment.

SIA also said that medical personnel, airline staff and staff of ground services provider Sats and the Changi Airport Group met the aircraft when it arrived.

Flight SQ615 departed Osaka at 11.30pm local time yesterday and landed at Changi Airport at 5.17am on today.

There were 268 passengers, including two infants, and 13 crew members on the flight, added SIA.
