SINGAPORE - Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), in partnership with the Singapore Red Cross Society, has collected 140 units of blood from 190 donors today at the SPH Red Apple Day, its biannual blood donation drive.

Into its 15th year, the event at the SPH News Centre auditorium attracted both SPH staff and members of the public. It was made a biannual drive in 2011 to help encourage blood donations during festive periods when blood supplies are usually low.

Mr Alan Chan, Chief Executive Officer of SPH said: "The SPH Red Apple Day is our way of helping the community and providing the gift of life to those in need. Through this event, we aim to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation and to encourage more blood donors to step forward. We would like to thank all staff and members of the public for supporting SPH Red Apple Day 2015."

The SPH Red Apple Day 2015 is supported by Benelux, Cerebos, Gardenia and Nestle. The event media partners are SPH MediaBoxOffice, SPH Digital and SPH Radio's three stations - ONE FM 91.3, Kiss92, UFM100.3.
