SINGAPORE - A teenager was left injured on Thursday afternoon after a fire erupted in a housing board flat in Hougang.
According to an SCDF spokesperson, officers were alerted to the incident at a block along Hougang Street 11 at 3.29pm. Residents from six floors were evacuated.
Upon arrival, SCDF personnel had to force open the metal gate of the house to rescue the boy. He was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The spokesperson said that the fire originated from contents in the living room, and the fire was put out within five minutes.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
