SINGAPORE - Police have arrested two men, aged 22 and 24, for their suspected involvement in several cases of loanshark harassment.
On Dec 15, the police received a report about a residential unit in Woodlands being splashed with paint and had graffiti scrawled on the wall.
With help from camera footage, police officers arrested the two men at Marsiling Road on Dec 17. According to the police, one mobile phone was also seized.
Under the Moneylenders Act (Revised Edition 2010), first time offenders found guilty of loanshark harassment face a fine between $5,000 and $50,000. They also face a jail term of up to five years and mandatory caning of up to six strokes.
