21 arrested for immigration offences

SINGAPORE - 21 people were arrested for various immigration offences in a multi-agency joint enforcement operation conducted at Yew Tee Industrial Estate between Sept 17 to 18.

The police announced in a Facebook post on Saturday (Sept 19) that 105 officers from the Jurong Division, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and Singapore Customs were activated in the joint operation. Officers seized 75 cartons, 343 packets and 157 sticks of assorted brands of duty unpaid cigarettes during the blitz.

Investigations are ongoing.

Commander of Jurong Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police Wilson Lim said: "This multi-agency operation led by the Police is part of ongoing joint enforcement efforts to clamp down on criminal activities. Police will continue to work closely with other law enforcement agencies to deter illegal activities."
