3 men accused of running social escort agencies involved in vice activities

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested three men who allegedly operated social escort agencies believed to be involved in prostitution-related activities.

A total of eight suspects were arrested when the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) conducted raids at Geylang East Ave, Kallang Place, Flora Road and Henderson Road on Tuesday.

The three men and five women arrested are aged between 23 and 52. Computers, mobile phones, documents, cameras and clothing were seized.

In a statement, police said that the three men took a cut from the earnings of the social escorts who engaged in "vice-related activities".

The three men who operated the agencies will face court on Thursday.

Under the law, a person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person could be jailed up to five years and fined $10,000.
