SINGAPORE - The police have arrested three 17-year-olds in connection with a case of snatch theft that took place in Woodlands last October.
The female victim was walking along a park connector near Woodlands St 13 one night when two unknown men came from behind, snatched her handbag and fled.
A male "witness" approached the victim after the incident and offered to help, but he was later established by the police to be a third suspect, working in cahoots with the two snatch thieves.
The "witness" was arrested on Wednesday and the other two suspects on Thursday.
The three will be charged in court on Friday. If convicted, they face a jail term of between one and seven years and shall also be liable to caning.
