SINGAPORE - Two men were rescued after being trapped in their respective vehicles in an accident involving two lorries and a trailer along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) this afternoon.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the incident at 2.09pm and arrived at the scene to find two men trapped in their vehicles - the lorry driver, in his 60s, and the passenger in the other lorry vehicle, in his 20s.
According to the SCDF spokesperson, one fire engine, two red rhinos, two ambulances and three support vehicles were sent to the scene.
The two men were extracted from their vehicles within half an hour with the aid of hydraulic rescue tools and were conscious when sent to the National University Hospital.
Their condition was reported to be not serious.
