30-year-old man arrested for suspected involvement in loanshark activities

SINGAPORE - A 30-year-old man has been arrested on Friday (Nov 27) for his suspected involvement in loanshark activities.

A police report was lodged on Nov 25 that a HDB unit in Jurong West had been splashed with paint. Officers eventually arrested the suspect at Jalan Lempeng near Clementi on Nov 27.

If found guilty of loanshark harassment, the suspect will be fined between $5,000 and $50,000. He might also face a jail term of up to 5 years and caning of up to 6 strokes.
