4 arrested for suspected syndicated cheating of casino patrons

SINGAPORE - Four people have been for their suspected involvement in syndicated cheating of patrons at both the Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) and Marina Bay Sands casinos.

Two of the suspects were arrested first, after a report was lodged about a case suspected cheating at the RWS casino yesterday (Dec 22). The other two suspects were arrested after follow-up investigations, the police said in a statement today (Dec 23).

Cash and casino chips amounting to a total value of about $5,000 were seized as case exhibits.

The suspects - three men and one woman aged between 25 and 49 - will be charged in court tomorrow (Dec 24). If convicted, they may be jailed up to seven years, fined up to $150,000 or both.
