4th suspect in money changer robbery arrested

The police have arrested a fourth male suspect in connection with the money changer robbery that took place at a carpark in Aljunied Crescent in November 2014.

Singapore police issued a statement saying the 31-year-old Malaysian suspect was arrested in Malaysia with the help of Royal Malaysia Police.

The suspect was handed over to Singapore police today (April 14).

It was revealed in court in November 2014 that as many as eight men, were involved in the brazen robbery. They were said to have robbed money changer Ali Yousouf Saiboo, 35, of more than $600,000 at around 12.50am on Nov 5, 2014.

It was reported that one or more of the suspects was allegedly armed with a crowbar. In committing the robbery, they also voluntarily caused hurt to their victim by kicking him in the abdomen, according to court documents.
