5 teens arrested for allegedly causing huge blaze at Punggol Waterway

Five male teens have been arrested for allegedly causing a large blaze at a park in Punggol on Saturday (Jan 30) night.

Facebook user Joe Mei had posted a photo of the blaze spreading across a large area filled with grass and trees.

A statement by the police said that the teens who were arrested are aged between 14 to 20.

The statement said: "On 30 Jan 2016, at about 10.49pm, police received a call informing of a fire at Punggol Waterway.

"The fire caused damage to the park and it was fortunate that no one was injured in the fire.
