8 Bills to be debated, 3rd NCMP to be sworn in on Feb 29

PARLIAMENT will sit on Feb 29 for the first time since last month's debate on the President's Address, which set the direction for the new five-year term of Government.
Members of Parliament are expected to debate proposed changes to eight existing laws at the session, during which a third Non-Constituency MP (NCMP) will be sworn in.
He is Daniel Goh, 42, of the Workers' Party (WP), who told The Straits Times yesterday he will take his oath of allegiance at the sitting.
The sociology don from the National University of Singapore is filling the NCMP seat that was offered to, but rejected by, his WP counterpart, Lee Li Lian.
Among the eight Bills expected to be debated at the sitting are proposed changes to the Registration of Criminals Act.
These will let Singapore law-enforcement agencies work even closer with their international counterparts to tackle transnational organised crime and terrorism.
