800,000 households to get $45 million in utilities rebates

About 800,000 Singaporean households living in Housing Board flats will get $45 million in utilities rebates in April.

Part of the GST Voucher scheme, the GST Voucher-Utilities-Save (U-Save) is paid out four times a year. In this payout, the second for the year, eligible Singaporean households will each receive a rebate ranging from $45 for those living in executive flats, to $65 for those living in one- or two-room flats.

This will offset about three to four months of utilities bills on average for those living in one- or two-room flats, and up to two months of utilities bills for those living in three- or four-room flats. There will also be a one-off GST Voucher-U-Save Special Payment given out in July 2014 and January 2015, on top of the regular quarterly rebate.
