Afternoon storm downs trees in Bukit Timah

SINGAPORE - Afternoon storms on Tuesday uprooted trees and tore off branches in Bukit Timah, leaving some commuters stuck in heavy traffic.
One commuter, 32-year-old Liew Hanqing, said that she counted over 20 trees with huge branches torn off or uprooted at the Sixth Avenue area, The Straits Times reported.
ST pictures also showed fallen branches damaging parked vehicles at Turf City, and the damage to the All Star Golf Range caused by the storms.
A Stomp contributor said that hail fell on Turf Club Road at around 2pm today.
He said that strong winds fell trees, motorcycles, and even parts of the roof.
Other Stomp contributors said that storms in Hougang and Dunearn Road also caused trees to be uprooted.
