Artist draws on favourite memories at comics exhibition

SINGAPORE - Artist Weng Tianbao drawing treasured memories - such as his favourite biscuit - at a comics exhibition on Monday.

"A Collection of Our Shared Memories" opened at the National Library to mark Chinese daily Lianhe Zaobao's 90th anniversary.

It was opened by Ms Sim Ann, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Communications and Information, along with Mr Lim Jim Koon, editor-in-chief of Chinese Newspapers at Singapore Press Holdings, Lianhe Zaobao editor Goh Sin Teck and Mr Seow Choke Meng, who is executive vice-president of cultural industry promotion at SPH.

The comics range from 1940s anti-Japanese propaganda to some about 1980s birth rates.
