Belinda Lee joins humanitarian organisation World Vision as goodwill ambassador

SINGAPORE - Singapore artiste Belinda Lee has joined Christian humanitarian organisation World Vision Singapore family as a goodwill ambassador.

The host of television shows like Find Me A Singaporean and RenovAID made her first appearance as the Goodwill Ambassador during today's Saving Our Girls dialogue session.

"World Vision's values and strong focus on alleviating poverty and improving the lives of children worldwide resonates deeply with what I want to achieve at this stage of my life, to give back and to speak out for the voiceless," said the award-winning artiste, who started off her career as an MTV VJ.

World Vision's Director of Resource Development and Communications, Ms Fiona Soh, reinforced the strength of this new partnership: "Rarely do you find someone influential and well-respected, who genuinely feels so deeply for our cause, and on top of that is raring to put that passion into action."

As a World Vision Goodwill Ambassador, Belinda will work closely with the organisation to raise awareness of global poverty and injustice.

"It is my hope to not only improve the lives of children in Asia and beyond, but also empower these children to make a difference within their communities," added Belinda.

She will be preparing for an upcoming trip to Nepal this October to visit one of her two sponsored children, and volunteering to improve the lives of the children in one of World Vision Singapore's newest Area Development Programmes.
