More than 100 guests, some from overseas, were at The POD, National Library Building, on March 8 for the launch of My Unbelievable Journey With Indian Cinema, a memoir about Indian cinema and its artistes.

Former president S.R. Nathan, the guest of honour, received the first copy of the 320-page book from the author Mr S.A. Nathan and autographed a copy for him.

With a pulse on the heart of movie fans, Mr Nathan writes about timeless truths and his unforgettable experiences with the top stars of the south and north Indian film world. There's also a chapter on Malay cinema. The book chronicles the journey of Indian cinema over six decades and profiles many legendary artistes.

Mr Nathan, who is the managing editor of Indian Movie News, is popularly known as Nathanji. He has a popular column called Ask Nathanji in the monthly magazine.

Ms Pushpalatha Naidu of the National Library Board in her introduction described Mr Nathan as "a living phenomenon of cinematic brilliance". Among the guests were Member of Parliament for Sembawang GRC Vikram Nair and Vasantham celebrity Vadi PVSS.
