SINGAPORE - An 11-year-old boy who was found wandering along Marina Promenade on Monday night is believed to have been dumped here by his Hong Kong father.

Latest police statement:

Police have established the identity of the boy who was found on 21 July 2014 at the Marina Promenade after extensive investigations.

We are currently working closely with the Hong Kong Police Force who has detained a 45-year-old man related to the boy in Hong Kong, People's Republic of China, on 25 July 2014.

Investigations are ongoing and arrangements will be made to return the boy to his place of origin as soon as possible."

SINGAPORE - Police are appealing for the family of a boy found along Marina Promenade on Monday to come forward.

The boy, who is between eight and 10 years old, was found at 8pm and was unable to provide his family's details and contacts.

He is about 1.3m tall, slim and fair, with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a blue short-sleeved T-shirt with Khaki long pants and a pair of New Balance running shoes.
