Finally, there was a bit of rain on Sunday. The brief showers in the afternoon were mostly in the eastern and central parts of Singapore. As of 5pm, the highest rainfall recorded was 3.8mm at Scotts Road, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said.
The rain was "not widespread and heavy enough to break the current dry spell" but more showers were expected in the coming days, especially towards the end of the month.
Still, total rainfall for March is expected to be below the long-term average.
It has also been warmer and more windy than usual.
And there may be more haze if hot spots persist in Indonesia and Malaysia, NEA said.
