Brother: Victim was quiet, hardworking

Mr Poh Chee Keong was at work when he received the terrible news about his younger brother.

One of Mr Poh Chee Kian's colleagues, who saw the accident, had used his mobile phone to call Mr Poh Chee Keong.

Said the cleaner supervisor, 54: "I rushed to the hospital to see him. I was very sad to see him in that state."

Mr Poh Chee Keong said his brother, the youngest of nine siblings, was a quiet and hardworking man.

He was single and had been in the shipping line for more than 20 years.

They rent a one-room HDB flat in Tampines, he added.

Now, all that he and the other siblings want to know is what really happened.

"We don't blame anyone, just that we want to know what really happened. Everyone in the family is also asking about the same thing."
