Brunei Sultan attends fourth edition of Singapore Airshow

SINGAPORE - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday attended the Singapore Airshow 2014 at the Changi Exhibition Centre, according to a press statement from the Prime Minister's Office yesterday.

The six-day event, which began last Tuesday, is the fourth edition of the airshow and the biggest to date.

After the show, His Majesty proceeded to view the exhibits in the exhibition hall as well as the outdoor exhibition showcasing static display of various aircraft.

He also viewed an aerial display by the "Black Knights" aerobatic team from the Singapore Air Force; the YAK130; the "Jupiter" aerobatic team from the Indonesian Air Force; the MV22; and the Airbus A350, which was followed by a luncheon hosted by Singapore's Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen.

His Majesty, accompanied by Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, then attended an afternoon tea hosted by Singaporean President Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, and his spouse Mary Chee Bee Kiang, in the Yusof room of the Istana.

Their Majesties then signed the visitors' book, prior to taking part in a group photo session.

In the evening, His Majesty had a one-on-one meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

The leaders also attended a dinner banquet, where Her Majesty, as well as the Singaporean Prime Minister's spouse, Ho Ching, were also present.

Accompanying Their Majesties were Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng and Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (R) Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad Yasmin Hj Umar.
