Bukit Panjang LRT services resume, free buses still operating

SINGAPORE - Train services on the inner loop of the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit (BPLRT) resumed at 4.30pm today (March 10), SMRT said. This follows the announcement that services on the outer loop resumed at 1230pm today, and means that services have resumed completely.

However, SMRT said that the free public bus and bus bridging services will continue to operate "until further notice".

Commuters on the BPLRT will also not be charged for their journeys until 12 noon tomorrow, it said.

A fire at Senja LRT station - apparently caused by overheated power tie-breakers - disrupted services on Monday evening.

The Shin Min Daily News reported that tens of thousands of commuters were affected by the service disruption.

SMRT said that a "full investigation is being conducted" and that they will provide details "when ready".
