Burst pipe at Loyang Point causes water to flow into shops

SINGAPORE - A pipe burst and water flowed into the basement level of Loyang Point on January 15, affecting businesses there.

Joyce, an employee working at the mall, sent in photos of the incident. Water flowed into some retail shops and reached the escalator.

She said:

"The water was deep enough to cover your feet.

"It caused a huge inconvenience to shops at the basement level.

"Shops like Sheng Siong and McDonald's were badly affected as water rose. It also reached the escalator area.

"Even the Sheng Siong boss came down to take a look."

According to her, the pipe had been fixed once before, and this was the second time it has malfunctioned.

Fortunately, the water has since been cleared and the issue resolved.
