Cat found chopped in half at Marine Crescent

SINGAPORE - Pictures of a cat that was found chopped in half at Marine Crescent have been circulating online.

A Stomp contributor alerted the citizen journalism website yesterday (Oct 29) about the cat, after netizen Randy Wong posted an SOS message on his Facebook at around 7pm, asking for people who would be able to go down to the scene to provide photos.

Another Facebook user, Gowri Thamotharan responded that SPCA was on the scene with the police at 8.20pm.

After the series of photos were posted by Wong, he gave an update at 10.30pm that SPCA had taken the cat to a veterinarian, who would be assessing it today.

The police said that they received a call on Oct 28 at about 7.31 pm requesting for assistance at Blk 43 Marine Crescent.

"Upon the police's arrival, it was established that a body of a cat was found lying motionless at the said location. The relevant authorities were notified and no further police assistance was required," the police said.

Many users have expressed their sorrow and anger at the sick act on social media.

Zeeta Jeb said, "MasyaAllah ... no words to describe my feelings ... How can someone be so cruel to do such a thing ... May the Lord punish whoever did this ... Amen (sic)."
